I am taking a class that utilizes the plot wheel.
I am a pantser and I thought it would be good for me to stretch my legs.
Where I am struggling is that I have this GREAT character and no plot for the wheel.
Well, that's not true, I do have a plot...I'm just trying to refine it.
I am feeling confined.
I am having issues.
I still think that this is a good thing and will continue to work through it.
I think that the problem lies in my constructs and how that overlays the instructors constructs.
Trying to do something that is opposite of what I usually do - is bizaro world - but good.
I'm struggling, but that's okay.
A little planning is a good thing but not when it stresses you out.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I always feel constrained and...in the end...bored. But only if I OVERplot. I think going into the nitty gritty detail when you're just plotting is a bad thing, but having a loose plan is definitely a benefit. I am still a pantser at heart though. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust breathe, don't panic. Take it slow. Give yourself some time to adjust to doing something different. Best of luck
ReplyDeleteThanks all!!
ReplyDeleteI just finished half a year of studying structure, and now am needing to find my way back to my pants.
