A friend was able to score tickets to The Hunger Games and I turned her down because I had a date with DH. I called him and said, "I love you more than a major motion picture."
I tried to comment when this post first went up. Mercury is not playing well with WordPress. Still.
What I was GONNA say was that this isn't mushy at all. It's wonderful!
(Also, I got about two pages into that book and immediately took it back to the library. I will NOT be seeing the movie. Or going in search of the sequels.)
Uh yeah. I skipped those entirely. Books and movies. I adore me some vampires, but NOT an LDS propagandized version.
(Also, it may have been more like the first chapter or so. I knew immediately that this wasn't gonna be one for me. WAY too much drama and challenge. I like stories with strong women, but not stories with an instant feeling of deprivation and igony straight outta the box.)
lol - now that is love. I've read your past couple of posts at work when it's harder to reply. I'll go back when I have time. I would love to participate in the a-z blog thing if I weren't already committed to savvy author bootcamp this month. Sounds like fun.
At least now you know your place in the food chain.
ReplyDeleteahahaha always a good thing to know. ;)
DeleteLOL I turned down an opportunity to go this weekend because my husband and (older) kids want to see it, too. The sacrifices we make. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are wonderful, aren't we ;)

Oh dear. I'm gonna have to read the first two pages again. I loved the books. I loved that Katniss is such a strong character.
DeleteNot like Bela in Twilight where things just happened to her.
