Merrow

I was going to avoid typical creatures. I looked down the list ..Mermaid no. Merrow? Well, that sounds interesting. Jokes on me, it's a mermaid. Guess it was destined to be.

Merrow is the Scottish and Irish equivalent of the mermaid and mermen of other cultures.

What was especially cool was finding this picture from Alan Lee.

Someone else must have liked it too.  Liked it enough to ink it to their bod.

  2. That's a good description. ;)
I thought it was kind of cool looking. Supposedly people would woo and win these creatures to be their husband or wife... I'm thinking not.

  3. I don't want to spend any time in the mind of Mr. Lee. Yikes.

  4. Oh, THAT Alan Lee! Wow, I got lost over there for a VERY long time. Some of those images are just vast and amazingly detailed. Thanks for the link!

Oh right, the topic. Well, I tend to lean more towards the traditional type of mermaids, but I do see how some folks would like this version. No, I'm sure THIS was not the kind they wanted to marry. Blech.
